Punta Cana Vacation

We just got back from spending a week in the Dominican Republic with 4 of our best friends. It definitely came at a perfect time. Gavin and I needed to get away, just the two of us. As hard as it was leaving KK, we knew she was in good hands with her grandparents.

We stayed at the all-inclusive Excellence Punta Cana. The resort had 8 restaraunts, 10 bars, a disco night club, 24 hour room service, 2 huge pools with a swim up bar, 2 jacuzzis, daily and nightly entertainment. The hotel grounds were beautiful and very well kept.
All along the beach and poolside there were little "tiki" huts that kept you out of the scorching sun and there were even big beds if you prefered to relax in a take a siesta. One morning we got up bright and early to take some sunrise photos. It made for some great photos.
We spent many days relaxing by the pool but we did manage to squeeze in some fun times in the sun on the beach! It was so relaxing reading in the shade and watching the boys ride the waves with their boogie boards.
Michelle and I enjoyed a reading on the beach. (top left) She read "Dear John" and I read "The Secret Life of Bees." Both are highly recommended reads then you can watch the movie. One day I took some dancing lessons on the beach (bottom left).

You could be walking around and see a flamingo, geese, crabs, parrots, and beautiful tropical flowers. The parrots were very friendly (if you had food).

Each night we would get dressed up (only because there was a dress code for dinner) and go out to dinner. Being from Texas, our favorite was The Grill. We enjoyed fabulous filet and potatoes (and cocktails, of course)!

Here is our group of friends we went with. My cousin (and bestie) Michelle & her husband Brandon and my best friend from high school Jessica & her husband Randy. We have went to Mexico with this group and now Dominican Republic. Who knows where next year's vacation will lead us? Bahamas...Jamaica....Cozumel???

G's New Toy

So G decided it was time to trade in his truck. Not that it was old but it was just too big for him and he didn't really have any use for driving an F450. So he started on the hunt for a 2010 black F250 shortbed with dark interior. (I suppose is what you call it) This was almost impossible to find in black. Finally he found one that he loved, however it was white but it did come with a few perks. It already had a 10 inch suspension lift and big (not sure of the size) wheels and tires. All in all, this definitely made up for the color being white.  Take a look at his new toy...

I told you it was big. This is a kitchen trash can next to it!

Now that the blog is my new facebook, you can expect lots of posts! (Especially since it is summer and I have lots of time on my hands.) Look forward to reading your comments. Be back to blog about a surprising new father's day present G got. TTFN (Ta-Ta-For-Now)

Long Overdue

Wow! I know it has been a long time since I have blogged about what's happening in our little world. I blame it on facebook for stealing my time and thank my family for reminding me that I need to update my blog. KK is growing like crazy. She is officially 18 months and 5 days old. She is into absolutely everything! She is starting to talk a lot more. Her favorite word the last few week or so has been "milk." Water bottle, her babies bottle, daddy's drink, her juice cup...everything is "MILK." It is so cute how she says it too. Speaking of talking, her GiGi is getting a little frustrated because she can say "Poppi, Nana, Mimi" but no GiGi yet!

With this gorgeous weather we have been having, we have been outside a lot! She recently got a a little tikes playhouse with slide and a table to play with outside.
